It's almost St Patrick's Day so It's time to talk about:
BEER :)
My goal this year is to drink GREEN beer (somewhere, anywhere) but lately Matt and I have been on a brewery visiting kick, here's some places and my beer favorites to check out:
Karl Strauss
I almost always get a sampler when we go here (it goes great with their awesome mac n cheese or a burger with their special beer sauce on the fries).
They have at least the La Jolla and Carlsbad locations that I've visited, I haven't been to their headquarters yet :( aw.
My favorite by far is the: Red Trolley
Rough Draft
Matt and I recently went to Rough Draft's tasting room (owned by a UCSD Alumnus) with some of his coworkers, and I actually bought my two very first GROWLERS! :) (that's where they put beer in it to take home that they wouldn't normally bottle) I loved this place because they had an amazing hot dog food truck outside called Dog's World and it's really close to La Jolla.
My favorites at Rough Draft are:
Vanilla Belgian Stout (with the growler 32oz)
and their Southern Triangle(???) IPA- it's the most floral tasting one :)
Stone
Matt and I went to Stone's beer garden in Escondido at the spur of the moment and it was AMAZING. We sampled four of their typical beers and four that weren't even Stone brand! One was from Maui Brewing, and another I really liked was from Alesmith. :) Here I am trying to absorb beer by eating pretzels...not working haha
Societe
This is an amazing tasting room in Clairemont where they have funky beer names like "the widow" and more risquee ones like "the harlot", "the apprentice" and "the butcher"
Green Flash
I would really love to visit Green Flash next because I've heard great things about it!
Alesmith
Another tasting room I would like to visit soon and it's close to Rough Draft. Their nut brown ale is AMAZING.
Also, we're hoping to go to this year's Beer Convention in downtown San Diego, but we'll see! Happy Tuesday everyone~

Their entrance is very non descript:
